Swinley carving Atlas
To expand, click on images of stone carvings by Vancouver Island sculptor, Andrew Swinley.
5-ton Limestone Block. Andrew carved an Atlas pair for Holborn Viaduct in London In his studio in West Sussex, England. They replaced a pair which were destroyed in the London Blitz during World War II. Each Atlas was carved from a 5-ton block of Portland Limestone.
